As the Broker-Owner of Boardwalk Realty Carol brings with her over 45 years of active Real Estate experience to each interaction she has. Originally from a small town in West Virginia and then moving on to attend Penn State University, Carol’s upbringing taught her to appreciate the value of hard work and persistence. However, nothing means more to her than the personal relationships she has gained over the years, treating each client as a member of her family.
In 1974, Carol opened up her first real estate office, a Century 21 in Pottstown, PA where she represented large scale builders and developers. Carol’s hard work paid off as she quickly realized success in overseeing housing developments including one with over 650 units where she remained involved from ground breaking to final sales and was able to sell out the entire development in less than 4 years.
In 1992, Carol’s husband, Herb Hartman, Sr., retired from a lucrative career from his own business and joined Carol in Real Estate. With the support of family, including their son Herbert Hartman, Jr. and daughter Kathryn, Carol and Herb, Sr. sought out to expand their real estate business adding two additional Century 21 Offices and a mortgage brokerage. In 2001, alongside the purchase of their vacation home at the South Jersey Shore was the opportunity to purchase a real estate office on the Atlantic City Boardwalk which Carol lovingly named Boardwalk Realty.
Carol applied her core principles of hard work, dedication and genuine care for her family of clients to recognize the same success in South Jersey that she benefitted from in Pennsylvania. In 2006, you could say that Carol & Herb took the leap from the Boardwalk to the Ocean with the purchase of a second Real Estate Office named Ocean Club Realty.
Today Boardwalk Realty and Ocean Club Realty remain family-owned businesses, the success of which Carol attributes to the many wonderful employees, associates and past and present agents that share her love of real estate and devotion to providing excellent service.
